LVAC 2 Mile Road Race

Congratulations to Claire Brett who is the winner of the 2 mile road race which was held on the Polo Grounds lap x 2. A record 48 athletes took part on a fine spring evening. Eddie McGrath completed the winter League series as the winner, holding off Martin Dorgan & Siobhan Keenehan.

Congratulations to John Parker who is the winner of the 53rd Avondale Cup race, holding off Paul Power and John Cullen. On a very cold but dry spring morning, 38 athletes lined took off on the 4 mile lap around the bicycle track of the 15 acres.

Lea Fulcher was first LVAC athlete home in the 25th running of the Gerry Farnan XC Race. Lea (61), Paul Balfe (95), Sean Dowling (101) and Paul Power (121) completed the team who finished 14th Team.

2009 Tom Brennan Memorial 5k Race

Raheny’s Richie Corcoran won the Tom Brennan Memorial 5k Road Race in the Phoenix Park on Thursday, finishing 25 seconds clear of Crusaders’ Alan O’Brien, with Paul Fleming from Rathfarnham in third place. Azmeri Gebrejci, making a return to action, won the women’s race ahead of her sister and DCH clubmate Tekea, with Lucy Darcy of Sportsworld in third spot.
