Liffey Valley 1500/3000m Club Race

This Thursday evening just gone saw our athletes competing against each other in the club 1500m for women and 3000m for men. The track was wet and the weather was not great and while this may have affected the times, it did not dampen the spirits of our hardened athletes.

Marshalling the Women's Mini-Marathon

This Sunday just gone Liffey Valley were out in force marshalling the 37th Women’s Mini-Marathon. With over 30000 entrants it is billed by the organisers as the biggest event of its kind in the world. Liffey Valley club members were stationed from Sandymount Avenue to the finish and so were on-hand to provide help and encouragement to the runners as they neared the end of the hard slog.

Liffey Valley AC placed 3rd in National 5K Championships

The National 5K Road Championships was held in conjunction with the Irish Runner 5K. 1100 runners took part in this event which marks the first race in the Athletics Ireland Race Series. It was a fine day for a race, with a bit of a breeze and a chill but nothing to stop our runners achiving some of their all time best results.

National 10k Road Championships

The National 10K Road Championships which incorporated the Great Ireland Run drew a field of over 4000 athletes with a large number from the club taking part on a cold and windy day that was not conducive to fast times on newly designed course.
