Old Style or “real cross country” was in evidence in rain drenched Kilmacow on Sunday January 17th for the Leinster Senior Cross Country Championships. But it did not prevent Peter Arthur record his first ever championship win with a very impressive piece of front running as he left the field trailing in his wake to win by 50 seconds.

In conditions more like Summer than Autumn, Leona O’Reilly led the field up a testing hill from the start. The positioning of the hill so near the start meant athletes were under pressure from an early stage.
