Ballyshanemore Castle, Co. Kilkenny
Well done to our five Liffey Valley AC athletes who represented the club at the Leinster Novice Cross Country Championships in Gowran, Co. Kilkenny. Persistent rain made for challenging racing conditions, adding an extra test of determination and endurance over the 6km course. Despite the wet weather, our runners delivered a strong team performance, securing an excellent 7th place in the Men's Club Team competition.
Paul Bolger led the team home with a superb 15th-place finish in 21:45. Paul also played an important role in the winning Dublin County Team, adding a Leinster team gold medal to an already impressive day. Richard Finegan followed in 34th place (22:49), with James Foley finishing 53rd (24:03) and Joseph Whittle 69th (25:38), completing the four scoring positions for the club. Matthew Blyth rounded off the Liffey Valley representation in 77th place (26:51).
A fantastic collective effort from everyone involved, showing great commitment and teamwork in difficult weather conditions. Congratulations to all five athletes on their performances, and a special mention to Paul for his contribution to Dublin's county team victory. Well done, lads!
