The National Autumn Open Cross Country Championships took place on 18 October 2026 at the Sport Ireland Campus in Abbottstown, Dublin. Our athletes delivered strong performances across the senior and masters races, with David Carroll finishing 11th overall in 24:59 over 7.6 km, securing an impressive 5th place in the M35 category. Pierce Geoghegan also produced an excellent result, finishing 14th overall in 26:51 and claiming 3rd place in the M40 category. Ellen Cronin and Cliodhna Tutty Bardon represented the club in the senior women's race, while Tom O'Connor and Eddie McGrath competed in the masters categories, completing a strong day of cross-country racing for the club.

The event marked the 10th edition of the Autumn Open Cross Country Festival, attracting some of Ireland's leading distance runners. With glorious October sunshine and fast underfoot conditions, the races provided an excellent early-season test ahead of the National Cross Country Championships. Fiona Everard and Tony McCambridge claimed the senior women's and men's titles respectively.
