Dublin City Half Marathon 2026
Sunday, 3 May, 2026

Dublin, Co. Dublin.

On Sunday, May 3rd 2026, Dublin City Centre came alive with the second edition of the Dublin City Half Marathon. With over 13,200 participants registered for the sold-out event, the streets of the capital were packed with runners from across Ireland and beyond.

Perfect Running Conditions
Mother Nature delivered ideal racing conditions for the 21.1km course. The weather was cool and calm with no headwind to challenge the athletes, described by the women’s winner as “perfect conditions” that allowed runners to maintain steady pace throughout. Temperatures remained comfortable from the 8:30am start on O’Connell Street through to the final finishers.

The Scenic Route
The course took runners on a spectacular tour of north Dublin, starting in the heart of the city and passing through Phibsborough, Drumcondra, Beaumont, Artane, Killester, Raheny, Dollymount and Clontarf, with the beautiful St. Anne’s Park along the way, before returning via Fairview Park to finish on Guild Street near the iconic Luke Kelly statue.

Elite Winners
Seán Tobin of Clonmel Athletic Club dominated the men’s race from the 2km mark, finishing in an impressive 63:11. Paul O’Donnell (Dundrum) secured second place just 32 seconds back, with John Travers (Donore Harriers) third in 63:54.

In the women’s race, Sorcha Nic Dhomhnaill from West Limerick Athletic Club claimed victory in 71:25, successfully breaking the 72-minute barrier on her return to racing after maternity leave. Maebh Brannigan (Galway City Harriers) finished second in 74:47, with Sheila O’Byrne (Wicklow) third in 76:43.
