Leinster Intermediate and Masters Cross Country Championships

It was a fantastic day of racing for Liffey Valley at the Athletics Leinster Intermediate and Masters XC Championships in Dunboyne.
Our Intermediate Women had a strong race to win bronze🥉in the Team race, led home by Sinead McDonald (10th), with Mollie O’Donnell (23rd), Jen Preston (27th) and Siobhan Nugent (32nd) the scoring four, with Rachel Murphy (33rd) just missing out.
Our intermediate men’s team fought hard and finished 6th in a competitive race.
Geoffrey Alexandre ran one of his strongest races to finish 25th and win a silver medal as part of the Dublin County Team.🥈
There were plenty of medals for our Masters Men

There was great support around the course for our Athletes from our Coaches and fellow club members. Thanks to Tom for putting up the tent and ensuring our athletes had somewhere sheltered to get ready.
Before each race, everyone paused to remember Ashling Murphy who tragically lost her life this week, while her local club Tullamore Harriers wore black ribbons on their singlets as their mark of respect.
