Winter League 2016-17 Final Standings

Congratulations to Tommy Brehany who is this years Winter League champion. Tommy held off stiff competition to claim the title with Matthew Blyth and Sile Carroll following closely in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Tommy beat all the odds to claim the title having only competed in 4 out of the 5 races.

Damien Cauvet wins Avondale Cup in a new course record

Running off virtual scratch Damien Cauvet set a new course record of 19m36secs. To win the Avondale Cup four mile road race ahead of Paul Quinn and John Tuohy who both ran faster than previously on this circuit.

Tommy Breheny used his handicap to good effect to win the 4k Cross Country Race some 15 seconds clear of Tony Dunne with Daniel English holding off the fast finishing Damien Cauvet who recorded the day’s fastest time.

Damien Cauvet 4th in National Intermediate XC

A great run by Liffey Valley athlete Damien Cauvet to finish 4th overall in Tuam today at the National Intermediate XC championship, winning a County Team Gold into the bargain. Well done too to our athlete Gaëtan Le Page who placed 37th overall and 7th Dublin athlete home.
